\textit{S. Pott} and \textit{P. Villarroya} [``A \(T(1)\) theorem on product spaces'', Preprint (2011), \url{arXiv:1105.2516}] and \textit{H. Martikainen} [Adv. Math. 229, No. 3, 1734--1761 (2012; Zbl 1241.42012)] introduced a class of bi-parameter singular integral operators containing the one introduced by \textit{J.-L. Journé} [Rev. Mat. Iberoam. 1, No. 3, 55--91 (1985; Zbl 0634.42015)]. In the present paper, the author proves that both classes are actually equal.
