The study of scattering amplitudes has been one of the elements in understanding quantum field theory due to Feynman, Dyson, and Schwinger.NEWLINENEWLINEThis book formulates a new way of studying scattering amplitude by relating its notion to the Grassmannian. The central idea in the formulation is that the amplitudes can be represented in terms of on-shell processes. The invariant content of an on-shell diagram can be described by a permutation that also turns out to characterize the submanifold in the Grassmannian associated with the on-shell graph.NEWLINENEWLINEThe book concludes with comments on further avenues of research for advanced students and researchers in the areas of field theory, high-energy physics, and the broader fields of mathematical physics.
