It is more intended to awaken the reader's interest to further studies in particular to the edition of the Dedekind-Weber correspondence by \textit{K. Scheel} [Der Briefwechsel Richard Dedekind -- Heinrich Weber. Berlin: De Gruyter (2014; Zbl 1307.01002)] than to present a detailed analysis of Dedekind's work.
