In this paper the notion of bifurcation index is extended to the case of a parametrized family of inclusions of the form NEWLINE\[NEWLINE x\in\varphi(x,\lambda), NEWLINE\]NEWLINE where \(\varphi:{\mathbb X}\times J\multimap {\mathbb X}\) is an acyclic (multivalued) map, \({\mathbb X}\) is an ANR and \(J\subseteq{\mathbb R}\) is a nontrivial open interval.
