The authors present a new version of the Krasnoselskii fixed point theorem for a sum of two operators in which it is not assumed that the involved operators are necessarily compact and continuous. Some applications to a class of transport equations, Darboux problems, periodic problems for a class of difference equations, and to perturbed Volterra type integral equations are considered.
