The book covers a broad range of Euclidean geometry basic topics. The author presents a survey of the main planar geometry concepts, theorems and applications underlining the beauty of the field. Technical notions are backed up by well chosen exercises, while their solutions are also given in the book.NEWLINENEWLINEStarting with a captivating preface, the manuscript's structure includes five main chapters followed by an epilogue and two sections dedicated to hints and solutions for the proposed exercises. More precisely, as the author cleverly points out in the preface, the book is constructed in a ``definition-theorem-proof-exercise'' manner. The first chapter, ``Geometric figures', discusses preliminaries, introduces concepts and notations used throughout the entire book. The second chapter, entitled ``Congruent triangles'' provides detailed information about the congruency of triangles: main rules, the Ancient Greece problem of angle trisection and other related applications. The third chapter, ``Quadrilaterals'', introduces concepts, properties, various applications and theorems related to four-sided figures: we specifically mention the famous Pythagorean theorem. The fourth chapter entitled ``Similar triangles'' details similarity rules and related theorems in the case of triangles. Finally, the fifth chapter called ``Circles'' studies related notions, theorems and provides beautiful applications (the golden ratio is introduced).NEWLINENEWLINEThe mathematical concepts and properties included in each chapter are presented in a clear and accessible manner for math enthusiasts, high school students, undergraduates, and more experienced readers which enjoy light reading and studying new teaching perspectives. The origins of various plane geometry notions are discussed and their development is well explained and accompanied by formulas and proofs. Creative applications, proofs and exercises are provided throughout the manuscript.NEWLINENEWLINEThe author underlines the beauty of mathematical discoveries through time. An unarguably positive characteristic of the book is the inclusion of proofs for various historical problems as well as for very important theorems. Moreover, the book is truly appealing due to its vectorial {\LaTeX} figures.NEWLINENEWLINEWe have not identified aspects which are not in accordance with the scope of this book or aspects characterized by a lack of correctness.NEWLINENEWLINEGiven the above, we recommend the readers interested in the development of mathematical concepts and main theorems of Euclidean geometry the use of this book as a reliable reference.NEWLINENEWLINEAs a conclusion, the book provides the reader with both historical and technical information regarding planar geometry. The author presents concepts, theorems and applications in a very clear and fluent way within the manuscript. Nonetheless, this book is a valuable work which provides the reader with Euclidean geometry basics in an undoubtedly attractive manner.
