Blow-up of finite-difference solutions to nonlinear wave equations (English)
0 references
The paper deals with the numerical blow-up solutions of the nonlinear wave equation with power nonlinearity. The authors propose an explicit and an implicit difference scheme based on a product representation of the linear wave operator. The convergence of the difference schemes and of the numerical blow-up time as the discretization parameters tend to zero are shown. Numerical examples illustrate the validity of the theoretical results.
