The theory of twisted Yangians, as originally proposed in [\textit{G. I. Ol'shanskij}, Lect. Notes Math. 1510, 104--119 (1992; Zbl 0780.17025)], has proved to be a powerful tool in representation theory, as well as in many physical applications like D-branes. Properties of twisted Yangian in small rank have been inspected in detail, and various isomorphims arising from analogous similarities observed in Lie theory deduced. An extension of the twisted Yangian notion has recently been proposed in [the authors, ``Twisted Yangians for symmetric pairs of types B, C, D'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1407.5247}], in the context of deformations of the enveloping algebra of twisted current Lie algebras of orthogonal and symplectic types. In this nice work, the authors analyze the existence of similar isomorphims for extended twisted Yangians of rank one or two. This enables to generalize existing classifications to this case, providing an interesting tool for the representation theory in arbitrary rank.
