Mutations of fake weighted projective planes (English)

In this paper the authors study mutations between lattice polytopes. In a context of toric geometry, such mutations result in a deformation between the corresponding toric varieties. The authors focus on one-step mutations that correspond to deformations between weighted projective planes. They provide a complete characterization of one-step mutations in terms of \(T\)-singularities. Finally the authors study some Diophantine properties of the weights, generalizing results of \textit{P. Hacking} and \textit{Y. Prokhorov} [Compos. Math. 146, No. 1, 169--192 (2010; Zbl 1194.14054)].
