The theory of functions of a complex variable. Tutorial (English)

This is a text book (tutorial) in complex analysis and is based on the authors' lectures during several years for the students of the department of mechanics and mathematics of the South Ural State University. The manual sets up the methods of the theory of complex analysis used in applied problems (decays of function in series, evaluation of integrals by means of the theory of residues, conformal mappings). In order to help the students to assimilate these methods, various examples are considered and complete solutions are given.NEWLINENEWLINE The book consists of five chapters. In Chapter one, an introduction to complex numbers and functions is given. Chapter two is devoted to the regular functions; Chapter three deals with multi-valued analytic functions; in Chapter four, the theory of residues and its applications are discussed; and the last, Chapter six is devoted to conformal mappings.
