Conditions of wave propagation in two-layered fluid with free surface (English)

The authors analyze the roots of a dispersion equation for the problem of wave propagation in two-layered fluid of finite depth with a free surface. In limiting cases, it is shown that the obtained roots are consistent with already known results. Also, it is demonstrated that there exist two linearly independent solutions of the first approximation problem. The forms of free and contact surfaces are studied.
