Kakeya-type sets in local fields with finite residue field (English)

A subset of a Euclidean space is called a Kakeya set if it contains a line segment of unit length in every direction. Besicovitch proved the existence of Kakeya sets with Lebesgue measure zero. The author constructs analogous sets in a finite-dimensional spsce over a local field with finite residue field and over discrete valuation rings.
