The author is particularly known for his work on path integrals in quantum physics, their computation and estimates, partly in collaboration with Richard Feynman. It has 31 chapters, starting with fundamentals in quantum mechanics, passing the quantization of relativistic free fields and ending with cosmology and dark matter. The renormalization method removes infinities. The method of effective action is used and exactly solvable models are treated. The book also gives a selection of current research strategies.
