Characterisation of the Fourier transform on compact groups (English)

The Fourier transform on a compact group \(G\) is characterized by using a homomorphism from \(L^1(G)\) (or \(L^2(G)\)) in some Banach space. It is noted that similar results for the Fourier transform on \(\mathbb Z,\mathbb Z_n,\) \(\mathbb R^n,\mathbb T^n\), and the Heisenberg group were obtained in [\textit{P. Jaming}, Colloq. Math. 118, No. 2, 569--580 (2010; Zbl 1193.43004); \textit{R. L. Lavanya} and \textit{S. Thangavelu}, Ann. Funct. Anal. 3, No. 1, 109--120 (2012; Zbl 1260.43010)].
