The authors consider a totally asymptotic simple exclusion process with a dynamic `roadblock' particle and study a model with a roadblock that stochastically unbinds and rebinds from a single site and when a bound blocks the passage of the actively mowing particles. First the authors give a detailed description of their model and the simulation method and then present their simulation results together with theoretical arguments. The authors focus especially on the implication of switching dynamics of the roadblock particle on the steady state particle flux and on several dynamical regimes that can be distinguished, including the dependence on the rate of initiation of particles, on the roadblock rate and on the system size. Finally, the authors summarize the different regimes in a schematic diagram and outline some results.
