The general peakon-antipeakon solution for the Camassa-Holm equation (English)
0 references
The paper addressed the integrable Camassa-Holm (CS) equation for large-amplitudes surface waves in hydrodynamics: NEWLINE\[NEWLINE u_t - u_{xxx} + 3uu_x - 2u_xu_{xx} - uu_{xxx} = 0. NEWLINE\]NEWLINE Basic solutions of the CS equation are peakons, in the form of \(p(t)\exp(-|x - q(t)|)\). The paper reports an explicit form of peakon-antipeakon solutions, without assuming symmetry between the constituent peakon and antipeakon. The crux of finding the solution is exact solution of the respective equations for characteristics.
