Ptolemy asked: Given in the plane an object, an observer and a circular mirror. Find the points on the circle in which a light ray coming from the object is reflected to the eye of the observer. Al-Haytham solved this problem. In this paper, the author discusses a solution for the more general case in which the mirror has the form of an ellipse.
