Windowed Green function method for layered-media scattering (English)
0 references
This paper focuses on a new windowed Green function method for the numerical integral-equation solution of problems of electromagnetic scattering by obstacles. The abstract setting corresponds to the presence of dielectric or conducting half-planes. After a formal error analysis of the method, based on multiple-scattering perturbation theory, the authors develop the main results in Section 4. The windowed Green function method developed strongly relies on apodization techniques used in optics, as well as on tapering or Hann functions utilized in signal processing. A variety of numerical results demonstrate the accuracy and the speed of the proposed approach.
