Compressed resolvents of selfadjoint contractive exit space extensions and holomorphic operator-valued functions associated with them (Q2822209)

The authors study selfadjoint extensions of a possibly nondensely defined Hermitian contraction \(B\) on a Hilbert space \(\mathfrak H\) with an exit to a larger space \(\mathfrak H\oplus \mathcal H\). In the authors' words, ``the main objective in this paper is to study compressed resolvents \(P_{\mathfrak H}(z\tilde{B}-I)^{-1}| \mathfrak H\) and \(P_{\mathcal H}(z\tilde{B}-I)^{-1}| \mathcal H\) of selfadjoint contractive extensions \(\tilde{B}\) \dots and investigate the interplay that occurs in certain associated operator functions'', such as transfer functions of corresponding passive discrete-time systems and related classes of holomorphic operator-valued functions. This extends and develops the studies by \textit{M. G. Krein} and \textit{I. E. Ovcharenko} [Sib. Mat. Zh. 18, 1032--1056 (1977; Zbl 0384.47006)] and \textit{Yu. M. Arlinskii} et al. [Integral Equations Oper. Theory 53, No. 2, 153--189 (2005; Zbl 1129.47300)].
