The author gives a survey of recent results on the multiplicity of Gibbs states (phase transitions) in infinite spin systems of random configurations; see the author et al. [J. Stat. Phys. 156, No. 1, 156--176 (2014; Zbl 1298.82074); J. Math. Phys. 55, No. 8, 083513, 17 p. (2014; Zbl 1301.82021)]. A new exposition and extension are given for the Georgii-Häggström approach to percolation problems for a class of random point processes [\textit{H.-O. Georgii} and \textit{O. Häggström}, Commun. Math. Phys. 181, No. 2, 507--528 (1996; Zbl 0858.60098)].
