In the paper, based on the Hilbert expansion method, the authors construct the smooth solutions of the original self-organized kinetic system, starting from the smooth solution of the limit system, i.e., self-organized hydrodynamic system. Then they give the rigorous justification of the hydrodynamic limit from the self-organized kinetic system to the self-organized hydrodynamic system, which was formally derived by \textit{P. Degond} and \textit{S. Motsch} [Math. Models Methods Appl. Sci. 18, 1193--1215 (2008; Zbl 1157.35492)].
