    The authors study a class of fractional neutral differential systems with delays. Under a suitable set of assumptions, they derive by fixed-point methods the existence and uniqueness of mild solutions for the associated initial value problem; with additional assumptions, they also derive the approximate controllability of the system.NEWLINENEWLINEThe authors state that their work extends [\textit{S. Kumar} and \textit{N. Sukavanam}, J. Differ. Equations 252, No. 11, 6163--6174 (2012; Zbl 1243.93018); ``Approximate controllability of fractional order neutral control systems with delay'', Int. J. Nonlinear Sci. 13, No.~4, 454--462 (2012; Zbl 1394.34166)]. The former adresses a class of systems with fixed delay while the latter encompasses unbounded delays. Many sentences of the introduction of this article, including the very first one, are identical with those from the first reference. There also are some inconsistencies in the article that may be the result of a mix between the conventions used by the two references above.
