Regularity and construction of boundary multiwavelets (English)

The author considers the construction of boundary functions for multiwavelets on the interval and discusses their regularity. The boundary functions are obtained via boundary recursion relations and it is shown that the number of boundary functions at each endpoint is uniquely determined. Conditions to determine the regularity of the boundary functions in terms of the boundary recursion coefficients are derived. Finally, an algorithm based on linear algebra to construct boundary functions with prescript maximal regularity is presented.
