This paper seems to be a short one, but actually it contains a lot of facts abound the mathematics-historian Oskar Becker (1889--1964), his opinions and work in mathematics (especially here about the theme ``squaring the circle'' as it did appear in Bryson's work in the Greek antiquity times), his arguments in correcting philosophical/daily live regarding mathematics of Greek geometry with those based on the years 1933--1945 in Germany. The author of the paper under review provides many sources and a good list of references. Highly recommended; one should read the paper! [Also in the paper, the reader will find Becker's contributions about proportions due to Eudoxos.]NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1321.01006].
