Statistical thermodynamics of the Fermi gas at presence of the relativistically intense EM field (English)

The relativistic thermodynamics of a quantum Fermi electron gas is presented from the statistical point of view. The description takes into account the interaction with both relativistic and non-relativistic electromagnetic waves of considerable intensity. The interesting thermodynamical quantities (gas density, temperature, entropy, and specific heats) are calculated. A new set of adiabatic equations of the electron is obtained. It is stated that the EM field sufficiently influences the equation of state. This shows that at constant electron density the EM field leads to a decrease of temperature for the non-relativistic case of the form \(T\sim(1-\eta^2)\), where \(\eta=eH_1/cp_F\), \(H_1\) is the normal component of the vector potential of the EM wave and \(p_F\) is the Fermi momentum. The results may be important in both astrophysical and modern technological points of view.
