In this paper, approximations to functions of some differentiability by Durrmeyer sampling series and their generalisations are studied. The error estimates and convergence results are of Voronovskaja type and apply to very general settings. There is a theoretical \textit{ansatz} and there are applications to particular kernels included as well. Examples and numerical approximation results are provided too.
