This work studies an inverse problem in the setting of Lie algebroids, a generalized notion to that of Lie algebras and tangent space of smooth manifolds. Various characterizations of a spray to be Finsler metrizable are given. The authors introduce a Finsler structure associated to a spray, which might be of particular interest to many mathematicians and physicists.
