In this paper, a method of reduction to the integral Volterra equation is used for the solution of a one-dimensional elasticity problem for a radially inhomogeneous solid cylinder. An accuracy criterion for the approximate solution of the problem is formulated in terms of an error estimation of the governing integral equation.
