The authors apply the factorization method in order to solve a scalar inverse scattering problem with conductive transmission conditions. This problem is in relationship with the Maxwell system, provided that the scattering medium is coated by a thin highly conductive layer. The main result establishes that the factorization method can be applied for reconstruction of the scattering object from the far field data. The final part contains several numerical results which show the feasibility of the method.
