The author introduces new approaches in the study of the honesty property of the perturbed semigroup in abstract state spaces which is linked to a recent generalisation of Kato's theorem, namely: a mean ergodic approach, an approach involving adjoint operators and an approach involving uniqueness of the perturbed semigroup in Kato's theorem. He also presents an application of Kato's theorem on abstract state spaces in the study of quantum dynamical semigroups, and shows that honesty is the natural generalisation of the notion of conservativity.
