The authors try to deduce the likelihood criterion on the ground of a dimensionless approach (the Buckingham \(\pi\)-theorem) , and to apply these findings to the growth of crownpiece of tree. The relation of thus produced one-parameter curve to the well-known Chapman-Richards four-parameter curve is discussed.
