A new reference system in the variational method of thermodynamic perturbation theory (English)
0 references
A square well model with an attraction term in the pair potential is chosen as a reference system to calculate thermodynamic properties of metal alloys. The square well model is described by two different version of fluid theory, namely in the random phase approximation, and the mean spherical approximation. The authors believe that the mean spherical approximation is preferable.
