The authors propose an experimentally validated formula for the gas bubbles distribution function \(g(R)\) of the bubble radius \(R\) in the surface layer of the ocean: NEWLINE\[NEWLINEg(R) = A_gR^{-n}\exp\left[-n\left(R_p\over R-1\right)-R\over R_m\right],NEWLINE\]NEWLINE where \(R_m\) is the maximum radius of the bubbles, \(R_p\) is related to the maximum of the distribution function curve, and \(n \sim 3.5-3/8\) is close to the exponent value predicted by the Garret-Li-Farmer theory. This formula is applied to calculations of gas flow through the sea surface.
