The book under review is the third and final part of these class notes (for Parts I and II see [Zbl 1239.01004; Zbl 1260.01005]). They are based on courses given by the author at the universities of Zielona Góra (Poland) and Syktyvkar (Russia). The book consists of three chapters devoted to: computer nets (Chapter VII), co-operation of man and computer (Chapter VIII) and computational graphics (Chapter IX). As the author stresses, Chapters VIII and IX cover events till the 90s of the 20th century. In the concluding remarks, those parts of computer science are discussed that did not become scientific domains till the 90s, in particular computer music. Each chapter contains at the end some exercises. The book contains also a bibliography, a name index and a subject index as well as a list of the pictures (altogether there are 93 pictures -- they are mostly portraits of computer scientists).
