In [Topology Appl. 156, No. 1, 28--45 (2008; Zbl 1155.54004)] \textit{G. di Maio} and \textit{L. D. R. Kočinac} considered different aspects of statistical convergence in topological and uniform spaces and proposed and began the study of open covers and selection principles related to this kind of convergence. The author of this paper extends this idea to ideal convergence, where ideals are taken on \(\mathbb N\). In particular, he studies the \(I\)-Hurewicz property in topological spaces and \(I\)-Hurewicz boundedness in uniform spaces.
