Conservative, discontinuous Galerkin-methods for the generalized Korteweg-de Vries equation (English)
0 references
The authors construct, analyze and numerically validate a class of conservative, discontinuous Galerkin schemes for the generalized Korteweg-de Vries equation. They define discontinuous finite element spaces and conservative bilinear and multi-linear forms that define operators which lead directly to a semi-discrete approximation. The performed numerical simulations also indicate that the discretization errors grow only linearly on time.
