On a fast iterative method for approximate inverse of matrices (English)
0 references
The author proposes an iterative method for approximate computation of the inverse of a matrix, and proves that it has local seventh-order convergence. The method can also be used to compute generalized inverses. Since each iterative step requires seven matrix multiplications, the main application of the method is likely to be to matrices of special structure for which such multiplications require little effort.
