A nonempty set \(G\) with one associative ternary operation \(f\) is called a ternary semihypergroup. Its nonempty subset \(A\) is a lateral hyperideal if \(f(G,A,G)\subseteq A\). Properties of minimal and maximal lateral hyperideals are described.
