Numerical simulation of biological remediation Azov Sea (English)

A mathematical model of the 3D inhomogeneous green and toxic blue-green sea grass interaction is proposed for investigating possibilities of water quality improvement, especially for shallow water areas like the Azov Sea and the Taganrog Gulf. It is shown that one of the main reasons for the origin of kelp forest in shallow water areas is the heavy phytoplanctonic algal bloom. It is noted that results of numerical calculations with use of the model are in good agreement with field research data and other experimental data.
