Relaxation of a model in finite plasticity with two slip systems (English)
0 references
The authors deal with a rigorous relaxation result for a model in finite plasticity with two active slip systems, rigid elasticity and hardening in a two-dimensional and a closely related three-dimensional setting. The relaxation mechanism develops a just known result in the regime in which only one of the two slip systems is active. However, due to the presence of two slip systems the macroscopic behavior is softer and the relaxed energy is finite for all volume-preserving deformations. ``Finally, it is shown that the assumption of the elastically rigid material behavior is justified since models with rigid elasticity can be obtained as \(\Gamma\)-limits of models with finite elastic energy for diverging moduli of elasticity'' (from authors' abstract).
