On discus spaces (English)

The concept of discus space, defined by the author in [Bull. Pol. Acad. Sci., Math. 54, No. 1, 85--88 (2006; Zbl 1105.54022)], is used to find various types of fixed point results. In this paper, among other things, the author extends the Browder-Göhde-Kirk fixed point theorem to such spaces. He also provides a more thorough investigation of the properties of discus spaces as an extension of uniformly convex spaces.
