For each production process, the reliability and quality of goods and services is of utmost importance. Hence, the aim of the present textbook is to provide the mathematical foundations for reliability analysis and quality management. The reader of this textbook in the German language should have some basic knowledge in stochastics. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEAfter the introductory Chapter 1 with some basics from probability calculus and statistics, the subject matter is partitioned into the following chapters: Chapter 2, ``Service life'': Failure rate, distribution of service life, aging; Chapter 3, ``Models of failure and repair'': Models of failure, models of repair, renewal processes, maintenance; Chapter 4, ``Statistics of service life data'': Censored samples, nonparametric and parametric estimators, statistical methods for special distributions, bootstrap methods, nonparametric simulation; Chapter 5, ``Accelerated service life tests'': Proportional service life, load functions, parameter estimators; Chapter 6, ``System reliability'': Availability of serial and parallel systems, service life of serial and parallel systems, system function; Chapter 7, ``Statistical quality control in the production process'': Sigma-bounds, process capability, control cards, mean value cards; Chapter 8, ``Acceptance testing'': Inspection plans, sequential inspection plans. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe book contains many examples which can also help to apply the theoretical tools in solving practical problems. Also, hints are given to corresponding numerical methods and software. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThis well-written textbook with many references and an index can be recommended for courses in reliability analysis of systems and quality management of products, production processes. The textbook is also suitable for self-study in this field.
