Defining topologies on trees (English)
0 references
This paper introduces the concept of ``tree topology'' which is a topology on the underlying set of an infinitely branching tree that is defined via a family of filters. A detailed survey of the literature is provided and addresses both special instances of tree topologies as well as cases related to tree topologies. As an application of tree topologies an example of an extremally disconnected compact rigid space is exhibited.
