Asymptotic profiles of solutions for the isothermal Falk-Konopka system of shape memory alloys with weak damping (English)

The article is designed in connection with an initial value problem for a three-dimensional elastic system with weak damping. The system of equations of this problem is a fourth-order semilinear elastic system with regard to the displacement vector, the infinitesimal strain tensor and the elastic operator. This is a system of Falk-Konopka type and corresponds to the isothermal case of the thermoelastic system representing the martensitic phase transitions on shape memory alloys. For the mild solutions of this system, the authors find the asymptotic profiles. Also, for the mild solutions, under small data assumption, they give the proof of the unique global existence. With the help of second-order asymptotic profiles the authors point out the contribution of the nonlinear term to solutions. Moreover, they obtain the third-order asymptotic profile and observe that the decay rates of the asymptotic profiles are determined only by some lower-order derivative term, similar to the one-dimensional case. As an important result, the authors give the asymptotic profiles of solutions for the nonlinear problem.
