The author extends some results of \textit{R. C. Haworth} and \textit{R. A. McCoy} [Dissertationes Math. 141, 73 p. (1977; Zbl 0344.54001)] concerning sharing of the Baire property by images and inverse images under various kinds of mappings. Furthermore, several sufficient conditions are given for a space to be Baire.
