Normal subgroups, center and inner automorphisms of compact quantum groups (English)

Woronowicz, in a series of seminal papers, initiated the study of what are now called compact quantum groups [CQG's]. In this paper, the author introduces a class of automorphisms of CQG's which may be thought of as inner automorphisms and explores the behaviour of normal subgroups of CQG's under these automorphisms.NEWLINENEWLINEThe author then defines the notion of center of a CQG and proves the interesting result that CQG's having identical fusion rules have isomorphic centers. Using this result, the author computes the center of some CQG's. Finally, in the appendix, the author discusses the commutator subgroup and by means of an example shows how the relationship between the commutator subgroup and the center of compact quantum matrix groups can be different from that of the commutator subgroup and the center of compact Lie groups.
