This paper is concerned with spherically symmetric solutions to a reduced gravity two-and-a-half layer system in oceanic fluid dynamics. By constructing suitable approximate solutions and by using the method of weak convergence, the global existence of weak solutions in two-dimensional exterior spatial domains is established when the initial data are large.
