Differential categories [\textit{R. F. Blute} et al., Math. Struct. Comput. Sci. 16, No. 6, 1049--1083 (2006; Zbl 1115.03092)] and Cartesian differential categories [\textit{R. F. Blute} et al., Theory Appl. Categ. 22, 622--672 (2009; Zbl 1262.18004)] have been introduced to capture the essentail properties of derivatives from a category-theoretic standpoint. This paper aims to study differential forms and exterior differentiation within a generalized Cartesian differential category. The main result is that they produce a cochain complex.
