Measures of noncompactness and some applications (English)

A good survey is given of the most important basic properties of various measures of noncompactness on bounded sets of complete metric spaces and Banach spaces, and also of the Hausdorff measure of noncompactness between Banach spaces. Further, it is shown how the results can be applied to certain aspects of fixed point theory, the theory of differential and integral equations, and the characterizations of classes of operators between certain Banach spaces.
