The authors collect various known characterizations of the different types of irreducible elements, including strongly irreducible, very strongly irreducible, and \(m\)-irreducible elements, and prove several new ones. Using these different notions of irreducibility, they also continue the investigation of the various related forms of atomicity in a ring with zero-divisors.NEWLINENEWLINEThe paper is very clearly written.NEWLINENEWLINEFor part I, see [\textit{D.
